Media and communications
Tony is Deputy Research Director, School of Media, Film and Journalism , and served as Director of the Master of Communications and Media Studies between 2015-17, and of the Monash National Centre for Australian Studies, 2010-13. He is based in Communications and Media studies section, and is the author of Dancing with Empty Pockets: Australia's Bohemians since 1860 (Allen and Unwin 2012), and Death or Liberty: rebels and radicals transported to Australia 1788-168 (Allen and Unin 2010). Prior to joing Monash, Tony worked in book publishing and as a program maker at ABC TV.
