Biography
Rowan is Senior Research Fellow (Level C) in the Eastern Health Clinical School in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, and Deputy Strategic Lead of the National Addiction and Mental Health Surveillance Unit (NAMHSU) at Turning Point, Eastern Health.
To date, he’s authored more than 90 publications across the fields of substance use and sleep, with his research attracting more than $1.5 million in funding, including from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), the Australian Research Council (ARC), and the Commonwealth Department of Health.
Rowan has been the recipient of prestigious fellowships, including a Peter Doherty Biomedical Fellowship (NHMRC), and an Australia-Harvard Fellowship from the Harvard Club of Australia, which saw him undertake work as a visiting professor at Harvard Medical School, and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
