Food industry R&D
Nicolas is a food industry innovator who joined Monash from Mondelēz International (formerly Kraft Foods), where he was the Research Development and Quality Director Asia Pacific Chocolate category, after performing the same role for the Australia New Zealand business across all its categories.
As part of this role, he headed up one of the largest and most successful food R&D teams in Asia which counted over 100 food innovators. His 25-year food industry career covered all the bases, from manufacturing to marketing to retailing. He has led many breakthrough innovations, launching more than 500 new products in four countries while working for companies such as Nestle, Godfreys and Vitasoy.
In collaboration with the Monash Food Innovation Centre, Nicolas brings Monash researchers and technological capabilities to the table to help the Australian food sector build a brighter future in food manufacturing.
“Research is like the oil and industry the water,” Nicolas says. “We are the emulsifier helping them to mix.”
