Biography
Kim finished her PhD with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate Extremes (CLEX) in 2022 at the University of Melbourne. Her research was in understanding the impacts of atmospheric rivers and large-scale moisture transport over Australia and New Zealand, and their relationship with climate change.
Her postdoctoral work with CLEX at Monash University includes evaluating the devastating east coast floods of 2022, and understanding the drying trend in fronts over southern Australia. She will evaluate how these tropical-extratropical systems are represented in weather and climate models and how we can improve their predictability.
