Biography
Julie is a dietitian with extensive experience working as a public health nutritionist and researcher in remote Indigenous Australia and the Pacific Islands. Her research is focused on providing evidence to address inequities in food supply and food access for remote Indigenous communities. Julie holds an honorary appointment with Menzies School of Health Research, where she worked for 17 years prior to her appointment with Monash University.
Julie's research interest includes Indigenous food systems, real-world systems approaches to improving population level nutrition, addressing social inequities in food access, modifying food environments to support healthier food choices, capacity-building for evidence-informed decision-making, and capacity-building in research conduct.
