Biography
Jennifer studies vision loss due to diabetic retinopathy (DR) in adults and retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) in children. With a team of scientists and ophthalmologists, she conducts research in animal models of retinopathy to ultimately translate findings to patient studies and develop new treatments.
Recently, Jennifer’s team discovered immune cells in the retina that could potentially be boosted to reduce the severity of DR and ROP. These findings are currently being translated to patient studies and the development of an immune system therapy for adults and premature babies.
