Biography
Hugh uses structural biology techniques to examine autoimmunity and infectious disease. His research in the Infections and Immunology group in the Biomedicine Discovery Institute focuses on the complex molecular interactions taking place in autoimmune diseases such as coeliac, type 1 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. He explores the genetic and immune components of these diseases at a very fundamental level, using sophisticated imaging technology at the Australian Synchrotron facility.
