Biography

Cameron is an interdisciplinary sustainability scientist and a senior research fellow at Monash Sustainable Development Institute (MSDI). In 2024, Cameron was awarded the Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) by the Australian Research Council, which supports outstanding researchers to undertake high-quality, innovative research addressing a significant problem that will benefit Australia.
Hiss research seeks to understand important drivers and dynamics of sustainability transformations, and translate key insights for governance and policy for accelerating change. He has a keen interest in understanding technological, social, and political drivers that shape the pace of transitions, and how they can be influenced to accelerate progress towards net zero and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
