Biography
Betty is from Fiji, and is a PhD candidate. Her PhD research is focused on examining the gendered impacts of climate change-induced mobilities in the Pacific, specifically looking at planned relocation and displacement in Fiji. Before commencing her PhD, she worked with Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) in Thailand. She’s currently on the board of directors for the CIVICUS alliance and the Association of Women in Development (AWID), and is an advisor to FRIDA Young Feminist Fund and the Global Resilience Fund for Women and Girls (in response to COVID-19).
