Biography
Ben's doctoral project investigated the physiological and metabolic health of paramedics, as well as specialist paramedic task performance. With a background in exercise science and paramedicine, Ben combined these passions to improve the health and wellbeing of paramedics as well as the clinical care they deliver. Ben is a founding member and researcher at the Monash University Paramedic Health and Wellbeing Research Unit. He has more than 24 years industry experience, in prehospital critical care, paramedic education, human performance, paramedic health and wellbeing and clinical guideline development. His research interests include clinical aspects of search and rescue in aeromedical operations, physiological requirements for search and rescue, paramedic wellbeing, paramedic-led critical care, paramedic ultrasound, trauma systems, paramedic physiological and metabolic health.
