Biography

Professor Cooper is Director of the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Research Centre (ANZIC-RC); Director of the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence for Patient Blood Management in Critical Illness and Trauma (Blood-CRE); Head of the Critical Care Division in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, all at Monash University; and Senior Specialist in Intensive Care, Head of ICU Research and Deputy Director of the Department of Intensive Care at The Alfred Hospital, Melbourne.

He has published more than 250 journal papers including 17 in New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), Lancet, Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) and Annals of Internal Medicine.
