Drug delivery and disposition
Andy joined MIPS in June 2016 to lead the digestion team in the Boyd group, whose research focuses on the influence of lipid digestion on the fate of orally-administered drug delivery vehicles. His research to date has involved synthesis and materials characterisation in a diverse range of applied chemical systems, including explosives sensors, plastic solar cells, OLED displays, bioelectronic semiconductors, intestinal colloids and digesting lipids.
His DECRA fellowship focuses on structuring in digesting milk fats, one of the most complex naturally-occurring fat mixtures, and nature’s vehicle for delivering lipophilic compounds such as sterols and fat-soluble vitamins.
