Biography

Alison is a registered nurse, credentialled mental health nurse, and the Deputy Director of Education (Quality) at Monas University. She has experience in the area of forensic mental health nursing, specifically working with women in secure forensic hospitals.
Her PhD focused on the frequency and duration of seclusion for women within secure forensic hospitals, and also explored the woman’s experience of seclusion.
Alison’s education focus is in the area of mental health nursing and law and ethics for nurses, and teaches across pre and post-registration courses.
